To have fun helping your child to develop confidence as they learn to walk. To let you stay responsive to their capability and enthusiasm while minimising your back pain and resting your sore knees! We have found this a great way to have fun together and it didn’t take Tess long to catch on. Here are some tips to help you get started too.
When to use
We began using the WalkTall™ baby walker once Tess was confident using our fingers to get around and had been cruising round the house using furniture to pull herself up for some time. However, the WalkTall™ baby walker will help at any time while your toddler is still finding their legs a bit wobbly and uncertain, giving them a bit more balance while their legs get strong.
The WalkTall™ baby walker can also be used successfully even if your child is walking confidently as a toy for extra fun when out and about. We have run, hopped and skipped our way along grass, paths, woods and a WalkTall Ring O’Roses is still one of Tess’ favourite activity songs.
How to use
It’s important to remember that your child will not instantly know how to use the WalkTall™ baby walker, so give it a few goes and they will soon understand.
Dangle it in their vision while they are lying down and see if they grasp the handles. Help them walk away from the furniture by encouraging them to take hold. Help them transfer their little hands from your fingers to the handles of the WalkTall™ baby walker. You will find that as soon as they realise they have something stable to hang on to, and can get where they want without falling over, they will be asking for another go very quickly indeed!
